How are your shirts and hoodies printed?
Shirts and hoodies are printed directly onto the fabric using DTG printing. This means there is no thick layer of print sitting on top of the material. The print remains comfortable to the touch and is made for everyday wear without feeling like an extra layer on the fabric.
My shirt smells like vinegar!
No reason to throw the shirt out of the window. The smell can come from the pretreatment used during production and is not a quality defect. It will disappear after the first wash.
How do I care for my new shirt or hoodie?
A little care, no rocket science: wash inside out at 30 °C and turn the printed side inwards when ironing as well. Tumble drying and fabric softener are possible – but if you want the print to look good for as long as possible, we would leave both out.
How do I find the right size?
Every shirt and hoodie comes with a size chart showing the relevant measurements. A quick comparison with something you already own that fits well can save you from choosing the wrong size – and perhaps from an unnecessary return.
In our experience, our unisex shirts fit true to size and work for both women and men. The hoodies have a slightly closer fit. If you are between two sizes, the larger option is usually the better choice.
Where are the products made?
Our products are made after an order is placed. Depending on the product, availability and the materials required, production takes place at a facility in Spain or Latvia. From there, your order heads directly to you.
Sustainability and recycling?
Our apparel is only produced once it has been ordered. No warehouses full of shirts waiting for someone to maybe buy them someday – production is based on demand.
Our unisex shirts are made from 100% organic cotton. Information about the materials used can be found in the respective product details.
The prints are applied using the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) process. Water-based inks are used in this process.
Depending on the product and shipping location, different packaging materials are used. Our production partner uses, among other materials, shipping bags containing recycled plastic as well as cardboard and other product-specific packaging.
Gears of Riot is registered with the German LUCID Packaging Register and participates in a dual recycling system. This ensures compliance with the legal requirements for packaging placed on the German market and contributes to the financing of its recycling.
Sustainability is not a magic word and does not suddenly turn a shirt into something that will save the planet. That is why Gears of Riot focuses on transparent information about materials, production and packaging rather than making sweeping environmental claims.
